About the Role

Monks is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join our expanding Strategy team. The Social Media Manager is responsible for supporting the strategy development, planning, and execution for our automotive clients, focusing on increasing brand awareness, improving social marketing efforts. Key activities such as content calendar planning, collaborating on creative production ideation, content delivery support, and results reporting.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Planning

  • Platform Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of social media platforms to manage live and active social calendars in partnership with the Strategy and Community Management teams.
  • Calendar Ownership: Own the development of content calendars and manage the distribution flow according to client brand pillars and brandbooks.
  • Workflow Management: Act as the liaison between internal and client teams to manage appropriate content approval workflows.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee content enhancement, including editing and proofreading, to ensure high quality, consistency, and brand alignment.

Social Community Building + Engagement

  • Community Growth: Manage and grow online communities through timely, authentic engagements and the development of moderation guidelines.
  • User Generated Content (UGC): Manage the UGC program by collaborating with partners to gain content rights and overseeing curation initiatives.
  • Surprise + Delight: Collaborate with internal and client teams to manage proactive gifting workflows and enhance the community experience.
  • Advocacy: Identify, nurture, and support community champions and brand advocates.

Social Content Ideation + Execution

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Creative and Strategy teams to ideate on content creation, ensuring all output is informed by social performance and automotive industry insights.
  • Content Production: Produce original, captivating, and on-brand content tailored to automotive enthusiasts and diverse audience segments.
  • Copywriting: Craft persuasive, on-brand copy tailored to automotive preferences and purchasing behaviors.
  • Cultural & Trend Expertise: Act as a cultural expert, providing strategic recommendations for trends and brand-aligned moments to drive growth.
  • Live Coverage: Attend and support onsite activations and live events to capture and post real-time content.

Reporting + Insight

  • Performance Reporting: Perform reporting on content performance and audience engagement to inform future vehicle-related content initiatives.
  • Data Utilization: Analyze data insights and metrics specific to automotive marketing to optimize performance and social listening.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay updated on automotive industry trends and vehicle purchase behaviors to provide strategic recommendations to internal teams.

About You

The essentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Acquaintance with the automotive industry (prior knowledge preferred).
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills to improve content quality and brand alignment.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • On top of culture and trends, you know what's going to be cool before it is, including emerging social channels, tools, networks, etc.
  • Deep understanding of social media best practices, in terms of formats and tone of voice, as well as key social media channel ecosystems (Instagram, TikTok): trends, hashtags, automotive content usage, functionalities, guidelines, and platform updates.
  • Ability to travel to the office & onsite client locations as needed.
  • Ability to derive strategic insights from listening, including knowledge of metrics, social listening tools, and digital reports.
  • Strong organizational and quality assurance skills for publishing on high-profile channels with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools, social listening tools, and Content Management Systems.
  • Client Interaction: Comfortable interacting with internal departments and clients.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Bilingual French is an asset

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
