Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SH&E Professional Health to lead our Environment business line. This managerial role reports directly to the Environment & Energy SH&E Director, working within our established, high performing SH&E Team.
The Environment SH&E Lead will be responsible for the delivery of the Environment & Energy SH&E strategy within Environment, developing bespoke initiatives and campaigns to achieve key targets.
The role scope will include the collaboration and cocreation of both internal and client operational standards, technical health & safety deliverables, oversight of digital system development, creation of culture and initiative campaigns, formulating reports, etc. as well as other workstreams to embed and build health, safety and environment culture.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Safety Champion: Act as a prominent advocate for health (including wellbeing), safety, and the environment, fostering continuous improvement and innovation to cultivate a mature safety culture.
Management Systems Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to establish, apply, and enhance health and safety protocols, systems, and procedures.
Project Team Engagement: Engage with and collaborate with our project teams to develop project health and safety approach and oversee its execution.
SH&E Promotion: Author, support, feed into, the creation and execution of health and safety initiatives, campaigns, etc. and track results, evaluating program effectiveness.
SH&E Advice, Support & Guidance: Offer expert health and safety counsel, assistance, and direction to client, partner and project personnel.
One HS&W Team: Collaborate with peers, colleagues and managers to form a cohesive team that respects, supports, and works together towards common goals.
Project / Operational Meetings: Participate in, contribute to, and represent AECOM SH&E within project and internal meetings.
Reporting: Generate reports for all managed works and projects to convey status, performance, and improvements, reporting to the SH&E Director, project leadership team and clients both in written and presented formats.
Healthy Starts: Aid in reviewing and refining health and safety project deliverables to guarantee successful project initiation and progress.
Assurance: Guarantee adherence to and effectiveness of the assurance programme across all projects.
Accident Review, Management & Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of all incidents and accidents. Ensure investigations are conducted at the appropriate level, with corrective actions identified and preventive lessons integrated into the project.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Health and Safety Manager experience within a consultancy, construction or relatable industry.
Hold chartered IOSH membership or an equivalent credential, along with formal health and safety qualifications, complemented by relevant sector-specific training.
