In addition, the position provides facilities and infrastructure operational support to other Liberty Networks facilities, ensuring consistency in operational standards, site readiness, and infrastructure reliability across all supported locations. The role requires close coordination with network operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support customer circuit restorations, preventive maintenance activities, and infrastructure upgrades across both stations. The position may require 24/7 availability and emergency responses to network or facilities‑related incidents affecting the cable landing stations, including rapid response to service‑impacting events. How will you add value? Site Planning – Space allocation, power provisioning, and colocation management to support current and future operational requirements. Site Operations – Daily site coverage and operational activities, including Liberty Networks Colocation Areas, coordination with INOC, Service Implementation, customers, and equipment vendors. Multi ‑ Site Facilities Operations – Provide operational oversight and support for facilities infrastructure at Harbour View and Bull Bay Cable Landing Stations, CJFS (Montego Bay), and CFX ‑ 1 (Morant Point). Colocation Customer Support – Provide escorted site access, infrastructure support, and remote “smart ‑ hands” assistance for colocation customers. Remote Site Support – Coordinate and support facilities maintenance, inspections, and incident response activities for CJFS and CFX ‑ 1 sites Site Security – Oversight and enforcement of physical security controls, access management, and security procedures for critical infrastructure. Site Maintenance – Preventive and corrective maintenance of facility systems, including power, HVAC, grounding, and supporting infrastructure. Internal Routines, Testing, and Inspections – Execution of periodic operational checks, system tests, audits, and inspections to ensure site readiness and compliance. Third-Party Vendor Support – Oversight and coordination of external service providers performing on-site activities Maintenance Contracts Management – Administration and supervision of maintenance contracts with external vendors, including performance monitoring and SLA compliance. Emergency Restoration Activities – Execution and coordination of emergency restoration activities related to power generation systems, HVAC, and submarine system traffic restoration. Grounds Maintenance – Oversight of outdoor areas, fencing, access roads, and overall site surroundings to ensure safety and operational reliability. Emergency Preparedness and Implementation – Development, execution, and continuous improvement of site and system emergency preparedness procedures. Coordination with Transmission Engineering – Work closely with Transmission Engineers to ensure infrastructure readiness across all supported locations. Health & Safety – Enforcement of site health and safety standards, risk assessments, and compliance with local and corporate HSE requirements. Site Quality Assurance – Implementation and monitoring of quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Site Budgeting and Cost Control – Preparation and management of site budgets, expense tracking, and cost optimization initiatives. Terrestrial Route and Beach Manhole Monitoring – Ongoing monitoring, inspection, and maintenance coordination for terrestrial routes and beach manholes associated with submarine cables. Marine Operations Interface (Shore-to-Ship) – Act as the operational liaison between shore facilities and marine vessels during cable-related activities. Coordination with Maritime Authorities – Engagement with maritime authorities and port captaincies to ensure submarine cable safety within territorial waters, including regular meetings, dissemination of information, monitoring of planned construction near cable routes, and tracking changes in fishing zones or maritime activities. Fault Isolation and Equipment Replacement – Perform fault isolation testing; test and replace defective equipment, circuit cards, cables, optical components, and coordinate spare replacements and RMA processes as required. Network Incident Support – During major network failures or submarine cable outages, perform physical circuit rerouting and optical patching as directed by Network Management. Hurricane and Disaster Response Coverage – Provide critical site management coverage during hurricanes and deliver auxiliary support and rapid response to other Business Units (BUs) post-event. Colocation Customer Support – Provide escorted site access and remote “smart-hands” support via phone for colocation customers. Cross-Connect Execution – Work with Service Implementation and Network Management to execute cross-connects per Service Orders and perform standardized routines such as structured circuit labeling. Documentation and Reporting – Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports of installations, procedures, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting actions performed. What do you Need? Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications, Facilities Engineering, or a closely related field). Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or technical operations supporting mission‑critical infrastructure, such as cable landing stations, data centers, telecom facilities, or industrial environments. Proven experience with power systems (utility, generators, UPS), HVAC, grounding, fire suppression, and building infrastructure, preferably within carrier‑grade or subsea environments. Working knowledge of submarine cable station environments, telecom transmission systems, and circuit infrastructure, including basic familiarity with PDH, SDH, OTN, and Ethernet, as they relate to facility and physical layer operations. Familiarity with commissioning, acceptance testing, and fault isolation procedures, including exposure to ITU‑T and industry standards relevant to submarine cable stations and transmission environments. Professional proficiency in English is required; Spanish is considered an asset due to regional coordination needs. Strong sense of ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently in a 24/7 critical environment, with flexibility to respond to emergencies and work outside standard hours when required.
