Job description

Overview The First Watch Restaurant Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for creating and managing First Watch's analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage proven technical skills in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence tools. The role will collaborate with the First Watch team to translate business needs into technical and reporting requirements and ensure the overall health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment. Responsibilities The essential functions in this job description are not all-inclusive of this position’s duties and responsibilities. Reliable and dependable attendance is required. Design, implement, optimize, and monitor end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming structured and unstructured data, including monitoring automated ETL pipelines (Azure Data Factory - ADF) Implement data validation and quality checks to guarantee accuracy and consistency Create and support reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal business customers using Power BI Develop and maintain data security and permission solutions for enterprise-scale data warehouses, including data encryption, user access controls, and logging (Azure SQL)) Onboard new data sets (i.e., Data Acquisition) to the Data Warehouse using Azure Data Factory and possibly other tools or techniques Develop and sustain integration with internal and external data sources Develop and maintain data warehouse, metadata, data catalog, and user documentation for internal business clients Collaborate with external and internal resources to maintain the overall health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment Assist with researching new technologies and evaluating how/if they fit in at First Watch Serve as a liaison between business owners and developers to meet company analytical goals from requirements gathering through implementation Monitor system performance, troubleshoot problems, and implement optimizations to improve reliability and efficiency Ability to conduct root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify improvement opportunities and answer questions Qualifications Bachelor's degree BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field Minimum of five years of data engineering experience In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) Proven abilities to take the initiative and be innovative Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude Who We Are First Watch is the leading Daytime Dining concept serving made-to-order breakfast, brunch and lunch using the freshest ingredients available.
