Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated Advanced Systems Engineer to join our System Integration Team within the Project Execution Department (Business Unit Offshore Wind).
In this role, your primary focus will be to administer and extend the capabilities of our Requirements Management System (Siemens Polarion). You will also contribute to our systems engineering service offering on projects. You will be expected not only to apply, but also to develop, our services and to drive organisational adoption.
You will join a team responsible for expanding the organisation’s Systems Integration capabilities. This requires close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to apply, improve and scale our deliverables, processes and tools across projects at different lifecycle stages.
If you have experience implementing systems engineering practices in complex technical environments—and a strong drive to improve how teams work—we would like to hear from you.
Context of your potential role
Over the last few years, the Offshore Wind landscape has experienced momentous shifts: expanding existing capabilities and adding entirely new ones. As wind farm systems become more complex, managing interactions between system elements is increasingly critical. At the same time, as the market becomes more competitive, we must ensure that procured systems are specified properly and perform at the required level to fulfil the needs that called for them in the first place.
The Systems Integration team comprises a Systems Engineering and Interface Management function and represents a whole-system perspective across the design, execution and operation of our offshore wind farm portfolio. Our mission is to ensure that complex systems are engineered and delivered effectively to meet stakeholder needs, and perform as intended throughout their lifecycle.
As System Integrators, our ability to efficiently integrate products, information and stakeholders is key to developing our offshore wind farms with a lower levelised cost of energy, and to mitigate risk in multi-technology, multi-commodity and multi-partner frameworks.
Our team supports the elicitation, decomposition and allocation of needs and requirements to system architecture and establishes and manages the interfaces of an offshore wind farm. Throughout project execution the team supports project teams in the planning and execution of verification activities ensuring that technical compliance is tracked and monitored.
By maintaining architectural integrity, requirements traceability, and objective technical evidence, the Systems Integration team supports informed, risk‑based decision‑making across the full Offshore project lifecycle.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Take ownership of our Requirements Management System (Polarion) and help it grow with our needs — from capability expansion to tool integrations, reporting and process rollout.
- Support and guide colleagues in adopting new ways of working, by creating clear guidance, delivering training and being a trusted point of contact for ongoing support.
- Leverage the RMS to strengthen systems engineering practices across our business, helping teams apply recognised best practices (i.e. ISO/IEC/IEEE, INCOSE).
- Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to continuously improve how we operate, contribute to internal initiatives and explore new opportunities (including GenAI) to make our work more effective and consistent.
- Guide the elicitation, decomposition and quality improvement of technical needs and requirements, and system validation and verification against the same.
Location
Amsterdam or Kolding. You will need to be flexible to travel between our core countries.
Your experience
- You have a background in systems engineering, and feel comfortable working with complex technical systems across different project phases (min 3 years, with INCOSE certification a plus).
- You have experience administering Requirements Management Systems and enjoy translating business needs into practical, user-friendly solutions (experience with Polarion is a plus, not a must).
- You are curious about tools and new ways of working, and already have experience in areas such as Requirements Management, MBSE or AI-supported Systems Engineering.
Who you are
- You are a collaborative and approachable communicator, who enjoys working with others, understanding different perspectives and supporting people through change.
- You bring a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, take ownership of your work and care about delivering quality.
- You have an aptitude in conveying complex technical topics in simple terms.
- You feel comfortable in an international and cross-functional environment, and are confident communicating in English.
- You enjoy not only following established ways of working, but defining, explaining and implementing them when these do not exist.
Our offer
Good remuneration, a challenging and international work environment, and the possibility to work with some of the best in the field. You will be working in interdisciplinary teams and you can always count on support from committed colleagues. We offer attractive employment conditions and opportunities for personal and professional development.
