Job description

As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to Human Resources in a variety of areas including staffing, training and development, and employee relations.

Assist managers with the recruiting and selection of qualified candidates for positions. Screen applications and resumes, respond to inquiries regarding available positions, forwards information on potential candidates to appropriate management for review, and conduct applicant screening. Ensure completion of all pre-employment and new-hire process for new associates. This involves the coordination and completion of background checks, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), pre-employment physicals, drug screenings, reference checks, all new hire paperwork, and new hire orientation and training compliance. Conduct E-Verify and Ensure the Company remains compliant with all I-9 requirements. At times, participates in career fairs and generates employment ads for classified advertisements in print publications and internet job sites, schedule candidate interviews and Answer applicant questions regarding the application and hiring process. Compile charts and reports as needed. Recognizes inconsistencies in reports and brings them to the attention of management. Coordinate activities for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance. Drafts, copies, files, faxes, and mails various staffing related paperwork and correspondence including employment reference checks and verifications. Process unemployment claims and handle appeals. Responsible for tracking invoices for advertising bills and verifying proper charges. Provide occasional coverage for the switchboard. Responsible for interacting with applicants by telephone and email on a daily basis. Interact with hiring managers, administrative staff, and members of the Safety Department during the new hire process, orientation, and training. Interact with unemployment and work force commissions on a weekly basis.

For this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of administrative experience, preferably within Human Resources, a valid Driver's License. We would prefer for you to have an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, 4 years of administrative experience.
