Shell Health in Canada/Americas is a team of health professionals that all work towards the same goal of protecting worker health and to manage health risks to as low a level as possible, while meeting the high standards we expect, offering fit for purpose, value-add, practical solutions. The team is delivering integrated, preventive health support on a broad range of subjects that can be clustered around protect, promote and access. 

As our Industrial Hygienist, you will be using your expertise and guidance to support the Sarnia Manufacturing site in our Downstream Chemicals and Products business, and the Sarnia Terminal in the Trading and Supply business. You will be a member of a global network of Industrial Hygienists, all committed to the same vision, tapping into broad knowledge and experience.  

This role is offered on a fixed-term contract with coverage for up to 18 months. While the position is time-bound, it allows for skill development and broader exposure within the organization. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Deliver agreed Industrial Hygiene activities and support using standarized tools and processes 
  • Interpret the information and advice from experts in an area of expertise 
  • Develop stakeholder relationships on the asset 
  • Input to site inspections and audits, conduct and review of health risk assessment
  • Assure quality of own work 
  • Actively balance the regional delivery role with the horizontal input as required to the Central teams 

What you bring 

  • The candidate must have legal authorization to work in the Canada on a full-time basis 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science or a health discipline such as nursing, toxicology, ergonomics, and/or a Master’s in Industrial Hygiene 
  • 4 or more years of experience in Industrial Hygiene practice 
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) highly preferred 
  • Proven experience in industrial environment is desirable 
  • Proven experience as a radiation safety officer including training is desirable 
  • Thorough knowledge of local legislative requirements on workplace health and safety 
  • Fluent in English, Verbal and writing skills in English 
  • Candidate must have a Driver's license

The base salary range for this position is $82,000 - $130,000 per year.  Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
