Job Summary:
Location: Methodist HospitalAddress: 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE
Work Schedule: 5:00am to 3:30pm, 4 days per week
Conducts Anesthesia Tech orientation and skills evaluations. Inventories, orders and maintains stock in Anesthesia Store Room utilizing software and handheld devices.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
Completes orientation and skills checklists for new hires accurately and in a timely manner to ensure training has been documented.
Provides in-service training on anesthesia techniques and equipment to ensure proper usage and safety to all environmental services staff.
Performs room turnover and staff performance audits for assigned staff to ensure established cleaning measures are met by all employees.
- Identifies needed training or improvement needs based on results.
Provides and maintains assigned equipment properly to ensure staff is able to complete their assigned tasks.
- Reports needed maintenance promptly to the correct department to ensure defective equipment is removed from service and repaired.
Assists Service Coordinator in developing and adjusting staffing, including appropriate use of overtime, to ensure all shifts are properly staffed.
- Documents payroll, time, and attendance variances accurately.
Assists Service Coordinator and Operations Leader with interviews of candidates for employment when available by using standard interview tools to assess candidates objectively and consistently.
- Represents the department in a positive and clear manner during interview process.
Assists Service Coordinator with performance evaluations, commendations, and corrective action for assigned staff by providing documentation and feedback regarding performance to ensure accurate evaluation assessments.
Adheres to Infection Control and Safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Reports any unsafe conditions or accidents immediately to ensure problems are corrected and any injuries are promptly treated and documented.
Delivers requested supplies in a timely manner to providers.
- Sets up reviews on all items in the Lawson database; makes certain all items are correctly mapped to proper cost center and general ledger code.
- Enters all inventory requests live into the Lawson inventory control system on a daily basis.
- Maintains a customer fill rate of 95% on all stock items, or acceptable substitutes.
Maintains collaborative relationships with Customers to support all Customer Service Initiatives.
- Notifies customers promptly of any inventory item backorders and assists them in obtaining an acceptable substitute.
- Exhibits courtesy when talking on the Telephone or in person with all external and internal Customers.
- Displays responsiveness and a sense of urgency on all request forms from all of our Customers.
Completes all tasks and duties assigned as requested by the Team/System Leaders.
- Provides all necessary written or verbal communication in a timely manner.
- Updates management on projects status, system problems, and all inventory issues.
Provides assistance managing inventory and placing orders.
- Understands and can perform all tasks associated with updating inventory in the Lawson system.
- Continues to utilize the Lawson system to handle the inventory areas supplies.
- Understands and can perform all tasks associated with the Lawson system and other data bases in the department. Must be efficient in programming and maintaining handheld devices for Inventory Control.
Maintains appropriate levels of inventory in Anesthesia Store Room.
- Using the Lawson system to prepare and place stock orders from Shared Service and other vendors on a daily basis.
- Checks the stock inventory orders in Lawson on a daily basis.
- Maintains Surginet locations and adds new products to Surginet.
- Identifies and return any stock that is considered "Dead Stock" or slow moving items for credit.

Education
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience in healthcare environment required.
- Prior experience ordering supplies preferred.
License/Certifications

- Knowledge of anesthesia tech practices.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively read and interpret computer generated reports.
- Must be a self -starter with excellent team and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take work direction and provide information.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to multi-task, and prioritize successfully.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to utilize general computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), keyboard, and standard office equipment effectively.
