JOB SUMMARY: Reporting up to the Vice President of Dedicated and Driver Management, The Driver Manager Operations Leader oversees all daily operational activities for a team of 10 Driver Managers and up to 500 drivers. We are looking for an individual who can roll up his/her sleeves and embrace challenging work, can ask the right questions, and determine what is relevant and what is not in the decision-making process. Aside from numbers and data, you are personable, motivating, and passionate about our purpose.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
Evaluating critical business needs and creating standard operating procedures that resolve both fluid and concrete situations
Monitoring and improving Utilization, Turnover, Home Time, Service and Safety KPI’s
Fostering driver tenure and reduce turnover for assigned driver fleet
Pulling large data sets directly from AS/400 and use information to pinpoint trends, analyze fleet productivity
Managing the day-to-day dynamics including assisting with the hiring, performance management, and succession planning of your team
Championing customer service through an intense focus on operational excellence
Reporting KPI performance daily to all levels of leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of relevant Over the Road transportation management experience with a sizable fleet
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions
Ability to turn data into process improvements through understanding, accepting, and adopting change
Demonstrated experience with route optimization and vehicle tracking software
Highly organized and communicative – must be able to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
Ability to perform in an environment with ambiguous situations, rapidly changing priorities, and competing deadlines
Proven record of making well-informed decisions in both routine and emergency situations
High degree of initiative and independent execution. You are capable of thriving as a team player but are also driven by autonomy
Ability to handle high volumes of inbound email and phone calls
Experience in managing and developing leaders
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of DOT regulations
Familiarity with transportation of temperature-controlled product
