You Are: PeopleSoft Administrator/Upgrade Specialist
The Work
The PeopleSoft Administrator/Updgrade Specialist is responsible for the end‑to‑end technical administration of PeopleSoft environments and for leading and executing upgrade activities across DEV, TEST, STG, and PROD. This includes environment design, installation, configuration, patching (PUM/DPKs), security, and release management. The role partners closely with Technical Architecture, DBA, Infrastructure, and Functional Testing teams to deliver a stable, secure, and upgrade‑ready PeopleSoft footprint supporting TVA’s 9.2 program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PeopleTools and PeopleSoft application upgrades, including Change Assistant orchestration, PUM image planning, and retrofit coordination.
- Define and execute upgrade runbooks, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and environment validation (smoke, regression, and performance testing).
- Coordinate cross‑team activities (DBA, security, infrastructure, functional teams) to achieve upgrade milestones and certify platform compatibility across OS, database, and application layers.
- Track and report upgrade status, risks, issues, and decisions; maintain RTM documentation linking upgrade tasks to test evidence.
- Provide hands‑on administration across web, application, and process scheduler domains, including environment refreshes and performance tuning.
- Execute PeopleSoft upgrades using Change Assistant and PUM, including image selection, PRP application, and DPK management.
- Diagnose and resolve environment access issues (SSL, URL, login), restoring service rapidly with client administrators.
- Apply strong problem‑solving skills and balance tactical fixes with strategic environment improvements.
Here’s What You Need
- PeopleSoft Administration
- Oracle PeopleSoft HCM
- 5+ years of hands‑on PeopleSoft Administration experience across web/app/process scheduler domains.
- Demonstrated experience performing major upgrades using Change Assistant and PUM.
- Strong familiarity with PeopleTools upgrade planning on enterprise Linux and Oracle database platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex application and access issues quickly and effectively.
Bonus Points If
- Experience coordinating upgrade efforts across multi‑discipline technical teams (DBA, architecture, security, infra).
- Experience supporting large‑scale 9.2 upgrade programs or utility‑sector enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with TVA project environments or other federal/public‑sector enterprise systems.
