Job description
Who We Are
geniant is a fast-growing, award winning, experience consulting firm with studios in Atlanta, Dallas, London, and San Francisco. We design across digital and human touchpoints, partnering with startups and Fortune 500 companies to bridge the gap between a brand’s promise and real-world experiences. Through integrated insights, experiences, and an AI-first approach, we deliver experiences that benefit customers, employees, and the bottom line.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Experience Designer to join our Digital practice. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall user experience across our various client engagements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers to conceptualize and design user-centric solutions that meet both user needs and client objectives. Candidates in the Dallas area are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Experience Design and Planning:
- Develop and implement user-centered design processes and methodologies aligned with client goals and user requirements.
- Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively.
- Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and design patterns to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Design intuitive and seamless interactions that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
- Develop user interface designs that effectively communicate the intended user experience.
- Integrate generative AI tools and methodologies to streamline the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and design system documentation.
- Usability Testing and Iteration:
- Participate in user research, usability testing, and data analysis to identify user needs and pain points and validate design solutions.
- Iterate designs based on user feedback and testing results to continuously improve the user experience.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product managers, engineers, research/strategists, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Communicate design concepts, rationale, and decisions effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Mentorship and Leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced members of the UX team.
- Lead by example, promoting best practices in user experience design and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporate them into our design process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a proven track record of designing and shipping successful digital products.
- Proficiency in traditional and generative design tools such as Figma, Claude, Cursor, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of user research methods, usability principles, and design thinking methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, and to present and explain design decisions to stakeholders.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor less experienced designers.
- Comfortable seeking answers and asking questions in areas of ambiguity.
- Curious about and actively experimenting with AI tools as part of your design process — not just aware of them but genuinely exploring how they can expand what's possible.
- Thrives in a startup-like environment — adaptable, comfortable with change, and energized by the opportunity to help shape how things work rather than waiting for everything to be fully defined.
- Strong pride of ownership in their craft and work output.
- Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.
