Job description

Position Summary Winnie Palmer’s Acute Care Rehabilitation Services Department provides skilled occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy services for women and babies. We are currently seeking a Women’s Health Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive rehab care for our Women’s Services, including antepartum, postpartum, gynecology, and oncology. Responsibilities Essential Functions Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources. Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload. Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing using an electronic medical record. Other Related Functions Maintains a positive and encouraging treatment environment. Demonstrates compassion, honesty, and open communication with all patients and coworkers. Participates in performance improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control, as required. Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment. Instructs and supervises supportive personnel in their duties. Communicates and collaborates with multiple specialty healthcare providers. Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment. Qualifications Education/Training Master’s degree in physical therapy from an approved program. Licensure/Certification. • Current license in the State of Florida. • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification. Preferred Experience Acute care experience Experience in women’s health, pelvic health, or obstetric care Completion of an APTA Level 1 Pelvic or Obstetric Physical Therapy course Board Certified Pelvic and Women’s Health Clinical Specialist or currently pursuing specialization. APTA Certificate of Advanced Practice in Obstetric or Pelvic Health Physical Therapy or currently pursuing.
