Collins Aerospace’s Open Systems Digital Processing team is looking for an exceptionally motivated OSS Systems Engineering Senior Manager who is passionate about collaborating with high-performance teams to create mission-critical solutions that support Mission Systems.
Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment, enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our software engineering teams regularly utilize a variety of skills, including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures that meld commercial and military communication functionality, and software engineering development best practices for complex systems where the ability to execute the mission is paramount.
In this role, you will lead and manage a team of systems engineers responsible for the development and integration of Multi-Function Processor (MFP) solutions, providing scalable, high-performance digital processing capabilities across communications, sensor processing, and cross-domain applications. You will guide system architecture development across hardware, software, and FPGA domains, ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, and interoperability requirements aligned with modern open architecture standards.
The candidate will have opportunities to work directly with military customers, industry partners, and internal engineering and program management teams that are leading experts in their fields. There are immediate needs to support both U.S. and international customers through development of adaptable, mission-ready processing solutions.
What YOU Will Do:
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team delivering Multi-Function Processor (MFP) solutions within an open systems architecture framework
- Define and drive digital processing architectures across hardware, software, and FPGA domains, including computer, data movement, and interface strategies
- Perform system-level engineering activities such as trade studies, requirements development, architecture definition, and performance analysis
- Oversee integration, verification, and validation to ensure systems meet mission, performance, and scalability requirements
- Solve complex technical and organizational challenges across programs and sites while supporting program execution and capture activities
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Expertise in planning work to meet schedule, cost, and performance objectives
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams, including tasking, mentoring, and performance management
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with modular open systems architectures (SOSA, CMOSS, OMS, MORA)
- Strong background in digital processing systems (embedded compute, FPGA, high-speed interfaces)
- Experience with multi-function processor (MFP) or mission processing systems
- Proven experience in requirements capture, design, and decomposition
- Ability to manage technical risks and system design tradeoffs
- Experience leading programs through full lifecycle development
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Track record in program capture and proposal development
- Ability to lead cross-functional, multi-site teams
- Strong communication skills with engineering, program, and executive stakeholders

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
