Job Description:

 

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SWQA) to join our Team. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated technical mastery in Software Automated Test and Software Quality Assurance. This role requires independent ownership of complex validation areas, focusing on testing RISC-V embedded software on Pre-Silicon environments like QEMU/FPGA/RTL Simulator for SiFive Hardware Products. The successful applicant will lead the design of test strategies, automate, and integrate comprehensive test cases into the CI/CD pipeline, and spearhead the root cause analysis and resolution of critical detected issues. This position is located in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of highly stable and scalable CI/CD test automation pipelines.

• Lead complex, cross-functional root cause analysis (RCA) of test failures that span software, hardware, and infrastructure boundaries, ensuring timely mitigation.

• Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams, proactively identifying and resolving process bottlenecks to enhance overall quality and delivery speed.

• Exhibit initiative, be proactive, and assume full technical ownership for specific modules or critical areas of the automation framework and test environment.

• Define and own key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, execution time, defect escape rate) and drive data-backed continuous process improvements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in Software Test Automation, Software Quality Assurance, or Embedded Systems Validation.

• Proficiency with build environments and tools such as Make, CMake, and Yocto, with proven ability to triage build and compilation issues.

• Strong debugging skills in C/C++ for triaging issues within the embedded codebase.

• In-depth working knowledge of the Linux development environment, including advanced system-level debugging and performance analysis tools.

• Expertise with Development/Test tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and Grafana.

• Mandatory hands-on experience developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks using Python (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework).

• Required expertise with embedded software stacks (Toolchain, Linux, Bare-metal, QEMU, AI/ML).

• Proven experience using Pre-Silicon environments (QEMU, FPGA, or RTL Simulators) for software validation.

• Must possess effective interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to be a technical driver in solving complex, system-level analytical problems at the software/hardware interface.
