Job description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sibiu. Remote work is not available for this role.
The Packaging Design Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing packaging solutions for finished goods, maintaining close collaboration with both customers and supplier and is directly accountable for packaging improvements in terms of design and cost efficiency.
Check out your future responsibilities below:
- Approving supplier packaging, including 2D labels and matlabels.
- Approving packaging documentation for suppliers.
- Identifying and analyzing packaging issues for raw materials and define technical solutions together with the project team and Purchasing.
- Creating, releasing, and updating customer packaging documentation.
- Handling customer requests and required modifications, in collaboration with project teams (for finished goods packaging).
- Developing packaging for finished goods according to AUMOVIO and customer requirements.
- Creating materials in SAP (CSE) for all packaging items.
- Generating and releasing new part numbers for packaging materials.
- Requesting new part numbers from the central team when local SAP creation is not possible.
- Collaborating on developing and updating work instructions related to manufacturing, transport, and receipt of materials.
- Providing support to suppliers on packaging concepts based on AUMOVIO requirements and standards.
- Creating packaging concepts for upcoming projects, in cooperation with customers and the Purchasing department.
- Supporting the central team with calculations related to packaging concepts.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Technical Design preferred).
- Relevant experience in technical design, mechanical design, or packaging development.
- Proven experience in Project Management (planning, coordination, implementation).
- Advanced English level.
- Strong customer orientation and problem-solving mindset.
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
