Banquet Server

POSITION: Banquet Server
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Catering Manager
FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Banquet Server position with Legends Global/Boeing Center at Tech Port.  

The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service during catered events. This role ensures guests receive high-quality, seamless experiences by providing attentive service, maintaining presentation standards, staying in compliance with health code, and supporting event setup and breakdown.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position.
  • Setup of events (anywhere from plateups, to receptions, to buffets)
  • Attention to detail (napkin folds, seams on tables, uniform setups)
  • Setting up all catering needs for event (back stations, replenishments, etc.) to ensure an efficiently run event
  • Attention to polishing and keeping a neat workspace
  • Breakdown of event is thorough, spotless, and clean items returned to their locations
  • Must come prepared with neat uniform
  • Must remain attentive to our guests and greet them with a smile and provide further assistance when needed
  • Remain with a professional attitude (no slouching, disappearing, glued to phone, etc.)
  • Follows instructions of supervisor. Supervisor will be direct communication between kitchen and Front of House.
  • Provides a confident attitude of the menu of the event so when guests have questions (dietary restrictions, times, locations, etc.), they have a readily available answer
  • Must remain in compliance with liquor laws and food handling (shifts will not be granted without current TABC and FH certifications)
  • Must follow safety standards (non-slip shoes, gloves, when necessary, correct steps of dealing with spills)
  • Follows checklists and standard operation procedures
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers
  • Remembers to always represent the company (corporate, high-profile guests, talent, and additional higher ups are constantly in the building)

  • Maintains full knowledge of BEOs including specific details and especially time stamps

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Must have a valid TABC and Food Handlers Permit
  • 2 years of serving experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Basic working knowledge of food and beverage
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively perform the work
  • Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
  • Positive attitude and neat appearance
  • English preferred as primary language, but not required
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to multi tasks and work in different areas
  • Must be able to adapt in a high-paced environment
  • Must have a professional, welcoming appearance and demeanor

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working conditions involve noise, heat, changes in temperature, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc.
  • May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires moderate physical efforts.  Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weights up to 30 pounds.
