Job's mission
The Director, Business Control Sourcing is a senior finance leader who serves as the primary financial steward and strategic partner to the global procurement and supply chain organization. This role is accountable for building and maintaining rigorous financial frameworks that support supplier negotiations, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, supply chain risk quantification, and procurement savings tracking. The role plays a pivotal role in enabling competitive product economics and protecting gross margin across a complex, multi-tier supply base.
This role leads a team of finance professionals and interfaces extensively with Global Procurement, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, and Business Unit Finance to ensure that sourcing decisions are grounded in sound financial analysis and aligned with company-wide profitability objectives.
You will occasionally visit key locations throughout the world.
What you will be working on
Procurement Finance Strategy & Business Partnering
- Finance partner to VP Global Sourcing and sourcing leadership team, providing financial guidance on sourcing strategy, material cost savings management, and supply chain investment decisions
- Lead financial evaluation of strategic sourcing initiatives, including multi-year supply agreements, sole-source vs. multi-source decisions
- Develop financial frameworks for total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, supplier cost structure transparency, and should-cost analysis to support negotiation strategies
- Partner with sourcing, Global Operations and business unit teams to establish target costs for products and components, tracking actual vs. target cost on a periodic basis
Savings Tracking & Procurement Value Measurement
- Own the design, governance, and reporting of the global procurement savings program, ensuring consistent methodology for gross savings, net savings, and cost avoidance across all spend categories
- Report procurement financial performance to Global Operations and company leadership, including savings pipeline, year-to-date actuals, and forecast to plan
- Define and enforce savings validation standards in collaboration with Sourcing and finance to ensure savings flow-through to P&L
- Monitor and analyze key commodity market trends in partnership with the commodity managers and model impact on cost savings forecast
Financial Planning, Reporting & Controls
- Own the annual budget and monthly forecasting process for purchase price variances (PPV), and sourcing team’s budget
- Deliver monthly management reporting on procurement financial performance, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership
- Evaluate purchase obligations and material liability provisions on a periodic basis
- Oversee financial governance of indirect and direct procurement spend, including policy compliance, purchase order approval workflows, and spend analytics
- Partner with sourcing and operations finance on make-vs-buy decisions
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems (SAP, other systems), and reporting tools
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of 3 finance professionals supporting sourcing globally
- Define team priorities, establish operating cadences, and foster a culture of analytical rigor, proactive business partnership, and continuous improvement
- Mentor team members on financial modeling, business communication, and cross-functional influence skills
What we are looking for
- Degree in Accounting / ACCA/ CPA/ CMA;
- Minimum 12 years of progressive finance experience, including relevant experience in a supply chain, procurement, or operations finance role
- Demonstrated experience supporting a large-scale procurement or supply chain organization in a manufacturing environment
- Deep expertise in TCO modeling, should-cost analysis, savings methodology design, and supplier cost benchmarking
- Experience in the semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, or high-tech hardware industry
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP) and advanced financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and large dataset analysis
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire a finance team in a fast-paced organization
- Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams in fast-moving, technology-driven organizations.
- Strategic mindset with proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive cost/ productivity improvements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
