POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of Student Services (MSS) is responsible for supporting student culture and discipline throughout the school. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Services (ADSS), the MSS will drive behavioral intervention by identifying trends in classrooms, building strong relationships with students and teachers, and partnering with parents to identify student support needs. The MSS will work one-on-one with students to replace negative and disruptive responses into positive actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to student discipline incidents, working with students, staff, and families
- Manage students to develop positive behaviors and character by providing in-classroom support and development
- Partner with parents to identify strategies that support positive student actions
- Refer students to additional support services (i.e. health services, counseling services, mentorship programs, etc.) as necessary
- Build effective relationships among students and teachers to improve the school community
- Foster a school community that supports the school’s mission and promotes respect and appreciation for all students, staff, and families
- Support the execution of the school-wide positive incentive systems
- Create and support implementation of individualized development programs for struggling students as necessary, aligned with the discipline vision, to ensure student success in meeting school expectations
- Support the ADSS and school leadership team in the implementation of the plan for school culture that is in alignment with school priorities (structure may include elements of restorative justice, emotional intelligence, cultural competency, etc.)
- Collaborate with the ADSS to review student case files and manage student retention efforts
- Collaborate with Response to Intervention (RtI) team on behavioral data tracking to provide tiered support for identified students
- Execute additional duties as needed as a member of the school team (arrival and dismissal support, lunch support, covering classes, etc.)
- Support daily school operations through classroom coverage and supervision support as needed, including coverage for teacher absences, PTO, and other staffing gaps to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for students
EXPECTATIONS
- Arrive at school by 8 a.m. and participate in after school professional development three days a week
- Attend and participate in school-sponsored family events

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Minimum of two years work experience (required)
- Experience working as a social worker or working with students who receive special education support (preferred)
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is 50,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package.
