Overview The SVP, Advisory & Head of Reinsurance will lead, guide and provide governance to Artex Capital Solutions (ACS) controlled transformation platform as well as lead and provide input through ACS Advisory in the delivery of transformation client solutions. and review projects for new and existing clients of ACS. How you'll make an impact Oversees all Artex transformation (fronting) vehicles. Advisory – structures transformation deals working with cedants and investors. Manages investor, cedant, and broker relationships in the advisory process. Oversees the onboarding of transformation transactions into vehicles in coordination with the transaction operations and compliance teams. Leads establishment and licensing of any new Artex Axcell Collateralized Insurers. Reviews and owns transactional documents and negotiation with investors and cedants, working closely with the Chief Legal Officer. Works alongside investors and cedants in relation to any transformation coverage/claims disputes and any arbitrations. Serves as the primary contact for the BMA for ACS transformer vehicles – defending/aligning client’s business plan (underwriting, investment strategy) where challenged by the regulator. Overall responsibility for all transformation vehicles including all aspects of strategy, regulation, governance, reporting, and products (including any ancillary or related initiatives). Active member of the Artex Advisory Team in relation to client structuring, viability, capitalization and advisory for prospective and existing (re)insurance and/or capital market clients. Advises on the admissibility of asset strategies and how those will interact with underwriting strategies and regulatory requirements. Assists with capital optimization, i.e., advising on structuring debt and equity for optimal classification (e.g., Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3) including BSCR advisory work. Manages BMA application for licensing and formal submission of any Artex transformation vehicles. This also includes pre-vetting concepts with the Regulator and preparing clients for Assessment and Licensing Committee meetings (where required). Provides input on building comprehensive business plans, including translating complex strategies to fit within the licensing frameworks. Assists with designing corporate and risk governance at the business plan stage. Certain businesses could have specific risks that need additional controls/mitigants. Bridges the gap for clients and service teams between the advisory phase and service phase for all transactions in our transformer vehicles. Contributes to the evolution and expansion of the ACS product, ILS advisory offering, and advisory strategy. Acts as a subject matter expert on Artex owned and ACS managed transformation platforms and how they operate. Supports Global Strategic Growth discussions and provide regular reports to the ACS Head of Strategy & Growth on transformation platform product expansion, revenue, and growth initiatives. About you 10+ years of relevant experience in the (re)insurance sector with a demonstrated record of accomplishment in designing and executing sophisticated (re)insurance, retrocessional reinsurance, or securitization either with an asset manager, reinsurer, or broker. Portfolio Underwriting/analytical experience and running an underwriting team is highly desirable. Strong working relationships and familiarity with reinsurance brokerage community. Insurance qualifications such as CPCU, ACII or ARe or other insurance related designation required Ability to analyze reinsurance contracts through an in-depth understanding of commercially acceptable terms Experience working with insurance regulators in Bermuda, Cayman, Ireland, Guernsey, and/or the United Kingdom would be advantageous Prior experience actively managing client and stakeholder relationships Proven management and leadership ability Confident, accurate and strong communicator in a variety of settings including client board meetings (written and verbal) Ability to maintain high quality work in a fast paced, changing environment #LI-SP4 Oversees all Artex transformation (fronting) vehicles.
