Production Superintendent
Janesville, WI
We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Production Superintendent to lead operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and team engagement across all production activities. You’ll lead frontline teams, partner cross-functionally, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that directly influence plant performance and business results.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Operations
- Lead, coach, and develop production teams to achieve safety, quality, and performance targets in a 24/7 operation
- Oversee daily manufacturing activities, ensuring efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials
- Provide technical leadership across line setup, troubleshooting, metrics tracking, and process optimization
- Drive execution of production schedules to meet customer demand and operational KPIs
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture by maintaining a clean, compliant, and hazard-free work environment
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Serve as backup to Plant Manager with case management of injured employees
- Facilitate safety training and manage employee work restrictions effectively
Talent & People Development
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of production employees
- Manage performance through coaching, feedback, and corrective action while fostering engagement
- Build team capability through training, development, and succession planning
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and innovation teams to drive operational excellence
- Lead projects that address current business challenges and support long-term objectives
Systems & Reporting
- Manage production orders and transactions in SAP, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Track, analyze, and report key performance metrics to leadership
- Support payroll processes and provide backup coverage for Production Supervisors as needed
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in PVC extrusion or similar manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production setting
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and maintenance coordination
- Experience with SAP, Workday (or similar HRIS), and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive engagement, and deliver measurable improvements
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Education: Technical diploma or degree preferred
