We are looking for an Overnight Fleet Readiness Technician to join our Atlanta-based operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This is an on-site, overnight role with hours from Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle in our autonomous fleet is well maintained and operationally ready before the first shift arrives — and that important data is fully audited, offloaded, and accounted for in the cloud.

You'll conduct daily readiness checks, manage the end-to-end dashcam data retention lifecycle, and coordinate fleet status across teams to support safety and performance. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in handing off a fleet that is spotless, fully audited, and ready to run. Attention to detail, accountability, self-direction, and a deep passion for safety are key attributes required for this position.

YOU WILL

  • Fleet Readiness & Mechanical
  • Conduct overnight readiness checks on every tug, ensuring each unit is staged and ready for first-shift operations
  • Clean tug interiors, exteriors, windshields, cameras, and sensor housings to maintain fleet sensor visibility
  • Triage mechanical issues beyond scope and coordinate with external maintenance partners to prioritize repairs against operational demand

Dashcam Data Retention & Audits

  • Complete daily dashcam SD card and data offloads, ensuring all footage from the prior shift is fully uploaded to the cloud before clearing local storage
  • Run audit and identify gaps in time or missing files
  • Perform SD card formatting per protocol to ensure offloader compatibility
  • Manage physical offloaders to ensure efficiency and successful nightly offloads
  • Manage physical labelling, organization, and inventory of SD card kits and offloader hardware

Fleet Logistics & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Track tractor fleet status and report on current vehicle conditions
  • Document all overnight work in shift reports, including units serviced, defects identified, parts needed, and footage offload status
  • Report hardware failures, downed units, missing cards, or safety concerns via designated channels
  • Conduct shift handoff with the incoming Supervisor and operator team, communicating fleet status and any units pulled from service
  • Contribute to and refine best practices documentation for SD card handling and dashcam processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all PPE and ramp safety protocols

YOU HAVE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Must be able to pass federal background checks and receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, on-site at ATL
  • Strong log-keeping and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Slack, and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on an overnight schedule
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence

WE PREFER

  • Prior experience in aviation, airport, or airside operations
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems or autonomous vehicle operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed primarily in an active airside environment at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on an overnight schedule (Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM). The Fleet Readiness Technician must be able to:

  • Work overnight hours in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and high humidity
  • Stand, walk, and remain on foot for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb in and out of ground support equipment as required
  • Work in proximity to active aircraft, with exposure to jet noise, jet blast, fumes, and other ramp-environment hazards
  • Handle small hardware components (MicroSD cards, sleeves, card readers) with dexterity
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when on the ramp
  • Maintain a high level of alertness and situational awareness in a dynamic, fast-paced operational setting
