Role Overview
The Executive Consultant, Financial Aid Services is an enrollment management professional who has had a demonstrable impact in the delivery of financial aid (federal, state, and institutional) at prior non-profit college or university campuses. The Executive Consultant delivers our financial aid optimization services product, Award+. The Executive Consultants assist clients in developing institutional aid plans to meet recruitment, retention, net revenue, and discount rate goals.
A Day in the Life
- Develops financial aid strategies for clients that will allow them to meet their enrollment and revenue goals
- Creates and presents financial aid historical and retention analyses to clients, explaining trends and opportunities
- Consults regularly with client institutions
- Presents and explains the Award+ tracking dashboard
- Works with 10-15 clients throughout the year
- Assists clients in fully understanding the extent and construct of the contracted financial aid
- Meets regularly with the consulting team to discuss client goals and challenges and brainstorm solutions
- Travel Frequency, 3-5 times per year
Role Progression
- Within 1 month, you’ll: Build a foundational knowledge of Encoura products, systems and processes, specifically as they relate to Award+. You'll be assigned a campus partner load of up to 15 campuses (some existing and some new) and you will become familiar with their history and awarding strategies. This month will allow for the transition of campuses from other Award + team members as well as begin work with new campuses.
- Within 3 months, you’ll: Begin to independently manage your partner campuses; you will learn how to build their awarding strategy for the upcoming recruitment cycle in the Award+ system; you will work with your campuses to establish regular data submissions and meeting cadence with your clients to monitor their progress through the recruitment cycle.
- Within 6 months, you’ll: Have learned the entire process from data collection and start-up of new Award + campuses, to the build of an awarding strategy, and finally to the assessment of the awarding strategy at the end of the recruitment cycle.
About You
- An advanced degree is preferred but not required. A minimum of 5 years of successful experience within an institution of higher education, preferably in admissions, financial aid, or enrollment management
- On-campus experience in enrollment management is highly desirable
- A successful candidate will be intellectually curious and able to work independently, in a remote environment
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated data analysis skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively both internally and externally
- Ability to incorporate constructive feedback to improve performance and outcomes
- Successful candidates will be required to complete and pass a CLEAR™ identity verification as part of the pre-employment screening process.
The annual base salary range for this exempt position is $115,000–$119,000 and reflects the midpoint through maximum of the established range for this role. Encoura establishes compensation using national market data, internal equity considerations, and organizational budget factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization. Certain roles may also be eligible for variable compensation in addition to base salary. Employees in this role are eligible for Encoura’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off, and other programs that support employee well‑being.
