Position Location This position will be located onsite in Hanscom Air Force Base, MA. Job Overview Chugach Government Solutions is seeking an Entry-Level IT Specialist with an Audio/Visual (A/V) support background to assist with the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and sustainment of IT and conference room technologies in support of Government and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The ideal candidate will possess foundational knowledge of computer systems, networking, and modern A/V technologies including conference room systems, displays, microphones, cameras, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams. This position supports day-to-day operations, customer support, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and technical sustainment activities in office, conference room, and operational environments. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT and A/V systems within a professional Government contracting environment. Responsibilities Essential Job Duties: Provide Tier I technical support for end users involving desktop systems, conference room technologies, and A/V equipment. Assist with setup, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of: o Microsoft Teams Rooms o Rally Bars and conferencing systems o Displays, projectors, and monitors o Audio processors, microphones, and speakers o Surface Hub and collaboration devices Support conference room break/fix activities and assist with restoring operational capability during outages. Perform basic IT troubleshooting involving: o User accounts o Peripheral devices o Printers o Network connectivity o Workstations and laptops Assist senior engineers and technicians with A/V installations, cable management, equipment rack setup, and hardware deployments. Support installation and testing of network cabling including Cat6/Cat6A terminations and labeling standards. Maintain inventory asset accountability for IT and A/V equipment. Document technical issues, service requests, and resolutions using ticketing systems. Support preventive maintenance and operational checks on A/V systems and IT assets. Participate in customer meetings, site walk-throughs, and operational support activities as required. Follow Government security, cybersecurity, and facility access procedures. Maintain professional interaction with Government customers and internal team members. Key Responsibilities: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Basic understanding of enterprise IT environments. Ability to follow technical procedures and installation instructions. Comfortable working in office, conference room, and operational support environments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users. Job Requirements Mandatory: High School Diploma or GED required.Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Audio/Visual Technology, or related field preferred but not necessary. 1–2 years minimum of experience in IT support, help desk, or A/V support environments. Basic understanding of: o Windows operating systems o Computer hardware and peripherals o IP networking fundamentals o Conference room A/V technologies Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other collaboration platforms preferred. Ability to lift and move IT/A/V equipment up to 40 pounds. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug screening. Preferred: Experience supporting conference room systems or event support. Familiarity with Logitech Rally Bar, Crestron, Poly, or Cisco collaboration systems. Basic understanding of structured cabling standards and cable testing. Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar entry-level certification preferred. Prior internship, vocational training, military experience, or technical school background in IT or A/V support is a plus. Working Conditions: Primarily office and conference room environments.
