Job Overview Fairview is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic for St. John's Hospital located in Maplewood, MN ! This is a full time position offering 80 hours per every 2-week pay period and is benefit eligible! Constructs, maintains, and repairs furniture, woodwork, walls and doors in all areas of hospital. Repairs and maintains all lock systems. Performs welding of miscellaneous metals. Schedule Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30 pm Responsibilities Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Constructs and repairs furniture, doors, walls and woodwork to ensure structure integrity and personal comfort for staff, patients and visitors. Repairs all locks as necessary to ensure security for staff and patients. Maintains records on equipment repairs, safety inspections, and preventive maintenance. Welds miscellaneous metals as needed in repairing equipment and special project work. Required Qualifications 1 year experience in cabinet making, sheet rocking, locksmith wall covering sand basic carpentry or equivalent combination of education and experience Working knowledge of cabinet making, sheet rocking, locksmith, wall coverings and basic carpentry. Working knowledge of power and manual tools for carpentry and locks Basic ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, epic EHR, etc.). Knowledge of appropriate procedures for using, and ability to use specific equipment or machines to meet defined quality and safety standards.
