A Day in the Life

In this role, you will help shape how Medtronic operates and maintains its global facilities by leading programs that strengthen our Maintenance Excellence and Reliability strategy across a worldwide real estate portfolio. You will turn strategy into action by building standardized processes, scalable initiatives, and measurable improvements that enhance asset reliability, elevate technician and supplier performance, and drive operational efficiency.

Working in close partnership with Facilities, Operations, Quality, IT, and Finance teams, you will play a key role in modernizing how facilities work is planned, executed, measured, and continuously improved. Your efforts will help ensure our facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Medtronic’s enterprise priorities and regulatory standards—supporting the environments where life‑saving technologies are developed and delivered.

  • Lead the end-to-end program management of global Facilities initiatives, including CMMS/CAMS deployment, reliability programs, performance metrics, and process standardization 

  • Serve as program owner for the Maintenance Excellence & Reliability strategy, driving consistent adoption of reliability best practices such as Criticality & Redundancy Analysis, PM & Spare Parts Optimization, and Operator-Driven Reliability 

  • Plan, execute, and govern software system deployments (e.g., Fluke eMaint CMMS/CAMS), including data migration, system configuration, change management, training, and continuous improvement 

  • Develop, document, and implement standard facilities and maintenance processes and procedures, ensuring they are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational, quality, and compliance requirements 

  • Partner with site Facilities leaders to support rollout, adoption, and maturity of standardized programs 

  • Establish clear program goals, milestones, success metrics, and dashboards to track adoption, performance, and impact 

  • Monitor and analyze maintenance and reliability KPIs (e.g., asset availability, MTTR, MTBF, on-time percentage, first time repair) to identify trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities 

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Quality, IT, and EHS to ensure successful program execution 

  • Drive development and optimization of asset management standards, including asset hierarchy, naming conventions, PM scopes of work, and job plans 

  • Lead change management efforts associated with new processes and systems, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training materials, and support 

  • Ensure programs and processes align with regulatory, safety, and quality system requirements, including audit readiness and documentation standards 

  • Develop and manage program plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues as needed to ensure successful delivery 

  • Travel up to 50% 

 

Must Haves 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of progressive experience in Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field OR 2+ years with a Master’s degree OR a PhD 

 

 

Nice to Have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) 

  • Strong working knowledge of Maintenance & Reliability best practices, including asset criticality, PM/PdM strategies, failure analysis, performance metrics (e.g., MTTR, MTBF, uptime), and continuous improvement methodologies 

  • Experience deploying enterprise CMMS/CAMS systems (e.g. Fluke eMaint, Maximo, ServiceChannel, MaintainX) across multiple sites or regions 

  • Proven ability to translate engineering and operational requirements into scalable standards, processes, and technical solutions 

  • Experience operating in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP), with strong understanding of documentation, validation, and audit readiness expectations 

  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification 

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$102,400.00 - $153,600.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
