Location Description Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry. Responsibilities This position is responsible for operating the pasteurizer tanks. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in training of all processing and production personnel in the assigned department. 2. Helps in providing a safe work environment for all personnel. Also helps ensure that all production complies with the food safety standards as established by Michael Foods, INC. 3. Operate pasteurizer tanks in a safe manner. 4. Maintain an effective working relationship between all members of the department and other areas. 5. To keep area around machines being loaded clean and neat. 6. To haul out racks and stack, tie, and pick up all material neatly in proper amounts and heights. 7. To take care of all eggs stuck to flats. 8. To remove empty flats from the flat stacker. 9. To dump inedible buckets from machines being loaded after the end of shift clean up. 10. Before going to break, clean up entire work area. 11. To follow all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures 12. To follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) “washing hands, etc.” throughout the day. 13. To follow all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines 14. Responsible for spray down and cleanup equipment and floor to meet USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) specifications 15. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. 16. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Food production experience preferred. Bilingual preferred The pay range for this position is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. This position is responsible for operating the pasteurizer tanks.
