Department Patient Access_Corp Job Summary Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a non-profit hospital located in the beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida. We have recently built an additional hospital in Venice, Florida, have added a new Cancer Institute on our Sarasota campus, and are planning a new hospital location in North Port, Florida. This leader has operational accountability and oversight and manages the daily activities of Patient Access Front End operations. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior while ensuring teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be able to travel locally between offsite locations and have experience overseeing multiple departments within Patient Access. Areas of Registration oversite may include Emergency Department, Outpatient Services, Cardiac Cath, Surgery, and related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with affiliations or certifications through HFMA and/or NAHAM. Strong EPIC experience is highly preferred, specifically with EPIC Prelude, Cadance and MyChart. Required Qualifications - Require a Bachelor degree in business or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Require Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM). - Require seven (7) years of experience in Registration, billing, insurance verification/authorization, patient scheduling, or patient financial assistance, as well as five (5) years of prior management experience. Preferred Qualifications - Prefer seven (7) years of experience with computers using information systems including scheduling, registration, medical necessity, insurance eligibility/benefits, and other software and application used in the Revenue Cycle division. - Prefer demonstrated knowledge of International Classification Determination Tenth Revision (ICD-10) coding and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT). - Prefer demonstrated knowledge of Medicare Nation Coverage Determination (NCD) and Local Coverage Determination (LCD) protocols for medical necessity/Advanced Beneficiary Notice. - Prefer strong knowledge of insurance rules and regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial Insurance. - Prefer demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. - Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to solution. - Prefer demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem solving expertise. - Prefer demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills at all levels. - Prefer demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of group processes, teamwork, and cost center based management.
