Job description

In this role, you will act as a key technical advisor to our Asset teams, serving as the primary point of contact for Instrument and Electrical engineering support. You will play a critical role in maintaining plant reliability by responding to equipment issues, supporting breakdown events, and developing condition-based repair and replacement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • You will partner closely with Asset and Maintenance teams to deliver:
  • Technical troubleshooting of instrument and electrical systems.
  • Incident investigations, applying RCA and other structured methodologies.
  • Compliance management across instrument and electrical safeguarding systems.
  • Project delivery, leading small plant changes and representing Asset teams on larger capital projects.
  • Maintenance optimisation, including development and execution of maintenance interventions and Turnaround scopes.

You are a proactive and collaborative Instrument or Electrical Engineer with strong communication and coordination skills, and a passion for improving asset reliability.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • Ideally experience in oil & gas, or heavy industry, or manufacturing environments.
  • A working knowledge of instrument and electrical assets, including maintenance and fault finding.
  • Experience with RCA or similar problem-solving methodologies.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and deliver on commitments.
  • A commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.

Professional registration as an Electrical Engineer is desirable but not essential if you are actively working towards it.
