Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Logistics Specialist with proven expertise in Out of Gauge (OOG) cargo to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations involving oversized and heavy-lift shipments. The role extends beyond execution, contributing to the planning and delivery of project logistics solutions across complex subsea and offshore operations, ensuring alignment with project timelines, technical requirements, and commercial targets. Responsibilities Freight management and implementation Plan, coordinate, and execute the transportation of Out of Gauge (OOG) and heavy-lift cargo. Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including route surveys, permits, and compliance with international regulations. Liaise with carriers, port authorities, customs agents, and clients to ensure smooth operations. Analyze project requirements and develop cost-effective and efficient transport solutions. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all projects handled. Project Integration Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering Teams, and Procurement to align transportation strategy with project execution. Participate in project planning phases (FEED / pre-execution). Project Ownership Support end-to-end project logistics planning, from mobilization to final delivery. Ensure alignment between logistics execution and overall project schedule. Monitor transportation critical paths and proactively identify and resolve potential delays or operational constraints. Ensure transportation activities are executed in accordance with project HSE and quality requirements. Budget management Request quotes for both domestic and international shipments; Negotiating with shipping lines, airlines, transporters and agents; Verify and approve fiscal pricing, customs/clearance charges; Track and report logistics costs at project level. Support cost optimization initiatives across projects. Administration Ensure that customs procedures are correctly followed and up to date. Maintain accurate shipment, cost and operational documentation and ensure timely updates across company systems.
Mandatory Qualifications 5–7+ years of experience in logistics, with strong exposure to Out of Gauge (OOG), heavy-lift and project cargo operations. Proven experience in project logistics environments such as EPC, offshore, energy, subsea, marine construction or renewable energy projects. Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, transport documentation and multimodal transport coordination (sea, road and port operations). Experience coordinating heavy transport activities, including route surveys and collaboration with heavy-lift engineering teams. Ability to manage multiple complex shipments and priorities simultaneously within demanding project environments and tight deadlines. Strong stakeholder management, organizational and communication skills. Commercial awareness and cost sensitivity Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with specialized transport equipment and cargo handling techniques. Existing network within the logistics and shipping industry will be considered an advantage. Knowledge of SAP systems and additional foreign languages (e.g. Italian) will be considered assets.
