The 4‑H Enrollment Assistant provides administrative and customer service support for youth and volunteer enrollment processes within the 4‑H Youth Development program. This role ensures accurate data management, assists participants with enrollment, and helps maintain a smooth and positive experience for families, volunteers, and staff.

This part-time position supports the daily work of NH 4-H programs. You’ll help with program organization, event support, enrollment tasks, and communications. You’ll also assist with efforts to keep youth and volunteers engaged and connected to 4-H over time. This role is a great fit if you are organized, creative, and enjoy working with people while gaining hands-on experience in operations, communications, and program support. Regular on-site work is required, with occasional evening or weekend availability during events or busy program times.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Operations & Enrollment Support Assistant serves as a central administrative and operational support resource for New Hampshire 4‑H and is responsible for the following:

Program & Office Support (55%)

  • Provide general support for daily program and office tasks

  • Assist with event planning and setup (scheduling, materials, logistics)

  • Keep shared spaces, supplies, and program materials organized

  • Help track and organize supplies and purchases

  • Coordinate basic logistics with campus offices and vendors

  • Support staff during busy program periods

  • Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and functional workspace

 

Enrollment Support (Approx. 20%)

  • Assist with program and event registrations

  • Monitor enrollment and support follow-up tasks

  • Help maintain participant records and basic reports

  • Send confirmations, reminders, and participant emails

  • Ensure enrollment information is accurate and organized

Communications Support (15%)

  • Write and send emails, announcements, and updates

  • Create social media content (posts, captions, basic graphics)

  • Take photos at events for outreach and promotion

  • Assist with communication with youth, families, and volunteers

  • Support consistent messaging across programs

  • Assist with website content and digital ADA compliance audit and updates

 

Retention, Recognition & Stewardship Support (Approx. 10%)

  • Help recognize youth and volunteers (awards, milestones, thank-you messages)

  • Assist with activities that keep participants engaged year-to-year

  • Support outreach to graduating members about next steps (volunteering, mentoring, or continued involvement)

  • Help track participation and engagement over time

  • Assist with simple efforts to connect alumni or returning participants

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; current college enrollment preferred.

  • Relevant experience may be substituted for education as appropriate.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must successfully complete required background check and comply with University System of NH and NH 4-H Youth Development policies related to working with minors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Competency using Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel; SharePoint.

  • Keyboarding and computer application skills and knowledge of software applications, etc.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Customer service, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public. 

  • This position requires a high level of confidentiality and discretionary judgement with sensitive personal and financial information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth or community programs

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and basic social media tools

  • Interest in event planning, program support, or nonprofit work

  • Ability to multitask and work independently and collaboratively

Compensation Pay Range:

$18.00/hour
