Job Summary:
Dispatches trucks and supervises drivers. Ensures the dispatch operations process runs efficiently and in a timely manner.
Job Description:
Responsible for Supervising all Drivers
Responsible for fleet’s care/services
Dispatching of Brenntag drivers, supporting of all areas of our business including LTL, Bulk, and Transfers
Handle all orders assigned to ship on company trucks
Manage the driver’s day to day operations out of various facilities and our bulk terminals
Coordinate shipping appointments and pickups
Coordinate with outside warehouses
Process driver paperwork
Manage receipts & reimbursements
Review and file DOT logs
Work with customer service
Daily Communication of needs, issues, concerns related to customer order
Work with materials management
Coordinate inbound shipments with Material Management
Daily communication of needs, issues, concerns related to product management
Payroll (In-depth knowledge of Dayforce)
In-depth knowledge of inventory/routing system
Assist with dispatch office operations
Working the dispatch window to direct drivers
Work the truck scale
Point of contact for emergency line after 5 pm
Process paperwork as per procedures
Drive utilization of POD and OAV, assist with implementation of Project 44
Manage fleet documentation including PMs and annual inspections
Reduce common carrier spend by improving asset utilization and efficient order management and routing
Other duties as given
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
1 – 5 years Chemical industry experience (preferred)
3 Years of Experience in distribution with a working knowledge of dispatching a fleet of drivers (required)
3 Years of supervisory/management experience (required)
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and bias for action
