What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What you’ll do

  • Operational Leadership: Supervise daily site operations including rubber lining, mechanical services, and pump rebuild activities. Execute work plans, schedules, and priorities as directed by the Site Manager. Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to ensure work is completed safely and on time. Monitor job progress and resource utilization, escalating risks or delays as needed. Success means smooth, efficient operations with minimal downtime and high-quality output. Travel to remote sites and customer locations will be required, including long flights and extended car travel.

  • Maintenance Management: Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment operation. Assist with inventory control by monitoring parts usage and stock levels. Collect operational data to assist in KPI tracking and continuous improvement initiatives. Daily focus includes ensuring maintenance schedules are met and equipment reliability is maximized.

  • People Management: Supervise frontline employees, supervisors, and contractors. Allocate tasks, provide clear instructions, and monitor workforce performance. Coach and mentor team members to improve safety awareness, technical skills, and work quality. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a respectful workplace culture. Success is demonstrated by a motivated, skilled, and safety-conscious team.

  • Compliance & Accreditation: Support implementation and maintenance of ISO-compliant management systems. Ensure all site activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and customer standards. Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up. Act with integrity and uphold company values at all times.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. Lead by example in safety compliance, risk management, and environmental stewardship, ensuring all activities align with safe working practices and environmental targets.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

  • Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

  • 5–8 years’ experience in site operations, maintenance, or similar roles within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Power BI, AutoCAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
