What Learning Development & Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health
The Consultant for Learning Development and Delivery serves as a trusted advisor to business and program leaders, diagnosing performance needs and influencing learning strategy to enable business outcomes. This role operates with professional autonomy and judgment, tailoring solutions based on program context, maturity, and risk. The Consultant applies consultative skills, learning expertise, and emerging digital and AI-enabled tools to design, implement, and sustain effective performance solutions. The Consultant also provides instructor-led trainings and manages training processes and content creation to maximize the value that employees gain from learning solutions.
Responsibilities
Consultative Partnership & Business Alignment
- Act as consultant to assigned programs by diagnosing business needs, clarifying desired outcomes, and recommending appropriate learning or performance solutions.
- Partner with leaders to influence learning strategy, scope, prioritization, and timing based on business goals and program maturity.
- Exercise judgment to challenge assumptions, clarify tradeoffs, and guide decision-making rather than simply executing requests.
- Navigate ambiguity and evolving program conditions while maintaining focus on agreed-upon outcomes.
- Provide aligned messaging across stakeholders while allowing flexibility in execution.
Learning Strategy, Design & Enablement
- Own end-to-end planning, design, and deploy learning strategies that address performance gaps using multiple modalities (instructor-led training, CRM, digital learning, performance support, reinforcement).
- Leverage facilitation, instructional design, and content adaptation as tools within a broader consultative approach.
- Ensure alignment with adult learning principles, business requirements, compliance considerations, and learner readiness.
- Evaluate effectiveness and business impact, adjusting solutions to improve outcomes.
- Support change enablement by driving adoption, messaging, and feedback loops for new digital and AI-driven learning solutions.
- Collaborate with design teams to adapt content and provide feedback on course design.
- Facilitate learning in virtual and/or in-person formats as part of broader strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in adult learning design (preferred).
- Experience in instructional design (preferred).
- Experience in virtual and in-person facilitation, including via Zoom or Teams.
- Background in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and deliver quality results within aggressive timeframes.
- Work arrangement: full onsite or hybrid, aligned with US business hours as required.
- Internal candidates must have held a P2, P3, or M1 role for at least one year prior to application.
