SummaryProvides resident centered personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining vital signs, psychosocial support and other personal cares.
Job DescriptionAssists residents in transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercise. Completes tasks related to dining and food preparation. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. Provides a positive dining experience. Provides the right medication to the right person at the right time in the right dose and by the right route ensuring all changes in medication are responded to in a timely manner. Accurately documents outcomes related to resident cares, medications/treatments, behaviors, activities and dietary. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational; follows consistent hand washing and Personal Protective Equipment use. Provides assistance/documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. Must possess a desire to work with residents in sub-acute care and long term care.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 8. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
