Responsibilities Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity in the Project Innovation Department based in our Birmingham, Alabama office. As part of the Project Innovation Department, you will support the research, evaluation, piloting, development, and implementation of emerging technologies, workflows, and alternative solutions that enhance business performance and project delivery. In this role, you will be expected to creatively introduce new perspectives to overcome challenges and uncertainty, while also demonstrating strong business understanding to develop solutions that contribute to Brasfield & Gorrie’s success. Brasfield & Gorrie is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As a result, many technologies will need to be tested and validated before becoming part of our standard processes. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): Write, review, and make changes to new and existing code. Assist in identifying, researching, and evaluating emerging construction technologies, methods, and industry trends. Support pilot programs and field testing for new tools, workflows, and methodologies, and document outcomes and lessons learned. Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for innovation-related tools, processes, and jobsite implementations. Document results, measure impact, and recommend standardization, scaling, or refinement of innovation initiatives. Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures related to innovation initiatives. Analyze project feedback, pilot results, and retrospective data to identify trends and recommend data-driven improvements. Communicate relevant technologies, trends, and innovation efforts effectively with project teams, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional partners. Assist in developing and delivering training for project teams and cross-functional audiences on innovation tools, workflows, and best practices. Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to promote collaboration and support innovative efforts. Manage time and priorities effectively to ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with department goals. Demonstrate agile learning through continuous professional growth, using available tools and resources to quickly build and maintain the knowledge and skills needed for effective performance. Travel overnight or weekly, as needed, to support pilots, training, and project teams. Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience Education/Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3–7 years of experience in construction, innovation, or a related technical role. Exposure to product evaluation, research and development, and technology scouting is a plus. Working knowledge or experience with Python, Next.JS, React, or other software languages and frameworks Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently with a problem-solving mindset. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, train, and collaborate across teams. Proven ability to manage time effectively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging goals. Willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities proactively. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while driving continuous improvement. Strong organizational skills and adaptability in learning and adopting new software and processes.
