Overview

Onboarding Specialist

Create a seamless new hire experience—guiding employees from day one and setting the foundation for success.

💻 Work Style: Hybrid 📍 Location: Gainesville, FL 🕒 FTE: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) ⏰ Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Plays a critical role in ensuring new employees are successfully integrated into the organization’s culture and operations. Coordinates orientation sessions, facilitates completion of onboarding documentation, and supports new hires in understanding company policies, procedures, and benefits.

Collaborates with HR and department leaders to tailor onboarding plans, monitors new hire progress, and addresses questions or concerns in a timely manner. Maintains accurate onboarding records, provides ongoing support to employees, and continuously evaluates and improves onboarding processes to enhance the overall employee experience.

Must reside in Florida

Preferred areas of residence: Gainesville, Jacksonville, St Augustine, Leesburg, The Villages

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates orientation sessions and supports seamless integration of new hires into the organization.
  • Assists new employees in understanding company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Collaborates with HR and department managers to develop and customize onboarding plans.
  • Monitors onboarding progress and addresses issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and organized onboarding records and documentation.
  • Provides ongoing support and guidance to new employees throughout the onboarding process.
  • Evaluates onboarding processes and implements improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Enhances the overall employee experience through effective and engaging onboarding practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree (AA) may substitute for two (2) years of required experience

Experience • 5+ years of experience in new hire onboarding coordination • 3+ years of experience facilitating orientation sessions and managing onboarding documentation • 3+ years of experience communicating company policies, procedures, and benefits to employees • 2+ years of experience collaborating across departments to support onboarding initiatives • 2+ years of experience evaluating and improving onboarding processes
