Compass Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy Oncology Clinical Specialist to join our team in a hybrid, Monday–Friday position, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
As an Pharmacy Oncology Clinical Specialist at Compass Oncology , you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by reviewing new treatment orders and helping shape and advance clinical pharmacy services across the organization. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll partner with Compass Oncology practice teams, leadership, and McKesson colleagues to develop and optimize processes that ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care while supporting our commitment to clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Employment Type : Full-Time, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, M-F hybrid schedule L ocation : Vancouver Cancer Center (Vancouver, WA) OR East Cancer Clinic (Clackamas, OR)
Salary Range: $106,154.85 - $220,475.46 salaried
** Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate’s applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations.
Scope: Oversees pharmaceutical care plans in designated specialty areas or product lines, including initial in-depth patient evaluations, development of care plans, and ensuring treatment plans are carried out. Ensures ongoing review of patient clinical status. Recommends adjustments to drug therapy based on clinical status and treatment outcomes. Coordinates with clinical providers to ensure all aspects of pharmaceutical care are delivered safely and timely. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with practice leadership, develops and implements strategies to optimize clinical efficacy, appropriate dosing, and therapeutic interchange, reimbursement, and other drug use initiatives.
- Implements mutually agreed upon therapeutic and supportive care medication use changes within the patient care setting.
- Collaborate with The Network practices to implement P&T recommendations and improvements for patient safety.
- Function as clinical pharmacist for patient-specific practice needs.
- Identify best practices within the electronic health record for medication review and suggestions for enhancements.
- Leads the development of clinical practice metrics.
- Participates in key drug initiatives at practice P&T or applicable leadership meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a registered pharmacist, including at least 2 years in oncology or completion of a PGY2 Oncology Residency
- Active Pharmacist license, with willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensure as needed
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) preferred
- 5+ years progressive leadership experience in an ambulatory infusion setting preferred
