Position Description
The Line Cook is responsible for executing daily food preparation and service within a fast‑paced kitchen environment while maintaining high culinary standards. This role works collaboratively with the broader culinary team to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all menu offerings while upholding food safety and sanitation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards in strict compliance with health code regulations.
- Demonstrate strong knife skills and foundational culinary techniques in daily prep and execution.
- Prepare menu items and daily specials with accuracy, consistency, and minimal supervision.
- Ensure adherence to established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards across all dishes.
- Monitor inventory levels for proteins, sauces, prepared items, produce, spices, and other ingredients to support daily service needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding menu items, catering needs, deliveries, and operational updates.
- Properly break down workstation at the end of each shift, including labeling, storing, and rotating food according to established procedures.
- Assist with the delivery and pick‑up of catering orders across multiple locations as needed.
- Provide direction and task support to prep cooks and stewards to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter‑free workstation throughout all phases of service.

Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred
- Previous experience in a high‑volume or professional kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with a variety of cooking techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and food cost awareness.
- Experience supporting catering or event service operations.
- Food Handler certification or equivalent food safety training.
