Pay Range : $77,000 – $96,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

The Industrial Engineer II has an understanding and knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and can apply them accordingly. In this role you will investigate, recommend, and, with oversight, deploy new and/or improved technologies to improve product quality and/or reduce manufacturing costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by design of experiment, and conducting time studies to model production lines; determining production throughput capabilities and line capacities, space requirements, equipment layouts, workflow, standard manning, labor efficiencies, and identifying bottlenecks and practicing the theory of constraints; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; consulting with equipment vendors and observations from operators.
- Experience in cost initiatives with the capability to complete Return on Investment (ROI) assessments.
- Collaborate with product development and production teams to determine optimal methods for new products, with a focus on continuously improving processes.
- Collaborates with Quality Engineering to define standard work processes to assure product and process quality, including design of testing methods for finished- product and process capabilities.
- Help develop automation to enhance safety, reduce defects, and boost productivity.
- Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, including production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to optimize worker and equipment utilization.
- Recommend methods to improve efficiency while reducing waste. Conduct elemental breakdowns to assess efficiency opportunities, reorganize workflow, and relocate workstations to drive operational excellence.
- Researches and helps develop short- and long-term strategic improvements to manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, maximize efficiency, improve throughput, increase yields, reduce scrap, and align with business needs.
- Supports efforts to set standards for machine/equipment specifications, designs, buyoff criteria, drawings, and other as-required documentation.
- Assist with line balancing, automation, troubleshooting, and time studies.
- Facilitate and teach Continuous Improvement processes, design tools/fixtures, and time study skills.
- Update and maintain facility layout drawings.
- Participate in daily Gemba walks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding and application of Continuous Improvement, Lean Methods, and Process Automation
- Demonstrated knowledge of high mix/volume manufacturing methods, procedures, and cost-reduction techniques in a Lean environment; working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools: including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Cellular Manufacturing and Kaizen events.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks other applicable computer skills.
- Ability to implement changes through location Operations teams without having direct management responsibility for these teams.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- May be required to frequently lift to 50 lbs. Depending on the job.
- Hand dexterity and strength.
- Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
Work Environment
- Primarily operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
