About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking a Superintendent – Metallurgy who will bring strong, inclusive leadership across two concentrators. In this role, you’ll oversee short-, medium-, and long-term optimisation initiatives while supporting day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Manager – Process Operations, you’ll play a key role in both strategic development and hands-on plant performance. You’ll help drive improvements in safety, cost, and operational outcomes, while fostering a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing team environment.
We’re looking for someone who is a thoughtful leader and clear communicator, who values diverse perspectives and can build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of metallurgists and technical professionals (both direct and indirect reports)
- Drive plant performance through process optimisation, innovation, and cost-efficiency initiatives
- Support production forecasting, modelling, budgeting, and long-term planning activities
- Commissioning new processing plant equipment
- Champion a positive safety culture and uphold high standards of wellbeing, inclusion, and technical excellence
- Deliver business improvement projects from concept through to implementation
- Oversee test work programs, data quality, and metallurgical accounting systems
- Collaborate closely with operations, technical teams, and external partners
You’re a collaborative and supportive leader who is passionate about developing people and creating an environment where everyone can thrive. You bring a continuous improvement mindset and enjoy working with diverse teams to solve complex challenges.
You will also bring the following
- Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in mineral processing, particularly in grinding and flotation, or transferable experience in similar processing environments
This role is based in Orange, NSW and follows a 5/2 or 5/2–4/3 work pattern. We’re open to discussing flexibility where possible.
