Location: Florence, SC

Hours: 12-hour rotating shifts (4 weeks days, 4 weeks nights)

The Florence East site, located in Florence, South Carolina, is part of the Pharma Services Group and specializes in pharmaceutical manufacturing and related services. This facility is dedicated to producing high‑quality pharmaceutical products in a cGMP environment, supporting our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

DESCRIPTION

You will supply site functions in the areas of Waste Water Pretreatment, Energy Center, Manufacturing, Lab and Site Utilities.

Demonstrate a high standard of performance and accountability while working in a team environment to deliver reliable utilities and services for the site

Operate (through manual and computer operations) waste water stripper, vent collection systems, thermal oxidizer, solvent tank farm, solvent recovery system, manufacturing water systems (Pharma/Purified), fire water system, chilled water system (ammonia chillers), cooling towers, electrical system, steam system, HTF systems, nitrogen system, and compressed air system (through PCR2 and Wonder ware)

Monitor (through Honeywell Operating system) HVAC systems following cGMP procedures

Apply knowledge of boiler-water and cooling tower water chemistry

Comply with all SOP's and regulatory documents/agencies

Complete all Tank Farm transfers

Have or work toward Waste water license (D level required)

Obtain licenses for and demonstrate ability to operate various materials handling equipment

Administer, document and maintain conformance to regulatory requirements and company policies where appropriate through effective utilization of Company Quality Systems and tools, as well as direct actions

Perform minor mechanical and equipment maintenance

Must demonstrate competency on M-F day shift prior to placement on rotating 12 hour shifts with 7 day per week availability and work approved overtime as needed

Use Microsoft Office software to create, modify, save, and print documents in Microsoft Word and Excel

Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in a chemical processing or pharmaceutical environment preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude

Must have successfully completed Phase I of the Utilities Plant Operator On-The Job Training program within the first year of employment. This requirement will involve learning/applying chemical technology, math, chemistry, process equipment and control systems

Experience following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Equivalency

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered

Ability to commute reliably to the Florence East site

Competencies

Good knowledge and understanding of basic equipment

Good problem solving skills and logical approach to solving problems

Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills to foster the team environment

Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations

Ability to apply basic mathematical principles

Strong attention to detail and drive to accomplish the job timely, accurately and safely the first time

Ability to work closely and effectively in a team environment

Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift in a 24-hour, 7 day per week operation to include evenings and holidays

Ability to apply knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes and the knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical processes, equipment, instrumentation, and procedures

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; sit and talk, hear or smell

Occasionally required to walk and stoop, or kneel, crouch

Regularly required to climb ladders

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work can often require being outside in all weather conditions

Occasionally exposed to various types of chemical substances (SDS information for review on an on-going basis)

Must comply with all applicable safety and security procedures: determine appropriate action beyond guidelines and report potentially unsafe conditions
