Job description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented a Human Resources Specialist to support various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive employee experience and maintaining HR best practices across the organization. The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031. What you will be doing • Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews. • Support new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required documentation for payroll, benefits, and work authorization. • Track and monitor 90-day performance reviews for new hires. • Provide employees with guidance on benefits, payroll, and HR policies and procedures. • Process employee status changes (promotions, terminations, transfers) with proper documentation and compliance. • Maintain and update HR records and personnel files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. • Assist with prevailing wage compliance, including research, reporting, and communication with internal teams and external agencies. • Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure organizational compliance. • Conduct periodic HR audits, including personnel files, I-9s, EEO, and affirmative action documentation. • Support employee relations efforts, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes. • Participate in HR initiatives and special projects to support organizational goals and employee engagement. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align HR practices with business needs and promote a positive work environment. • Coordinate requests for badges and RWP (Roadway Worker Protection) training directly with WMATA. • Perform other related duties as assigned. What we are looking for • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred. • aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification, preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance, required. • Solid understanding of HR processes, employment laws, and documentation requirements, required. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with HRIS systems, required. • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and effective communication abilities, required. • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality, required. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment, required. • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, preferred. • Prior experience in the construction or infrastructure industry is a plus.
