About the Role

We’re looking for an Associate Technical Lead – Web Platforms to help evolve and support the king.com ecosystem and related web products, ensuring they are scalable, compliant, and able to support growing cross-team demand.

This is a high-impact technical role focused on improving web platform consistency, compliance, and cross-team coordination. You will work closely with engineering, marketing, legal, product, and Shared Tech teams to help improve how externally-facing web experiences are built and operated at King.

As part of the IDEV (Innovation & Development) team within Game Services, you will contribute hands-on technical expertise while also supporting cross-team initiatives related to web standards, compliance, accessibility, and platform consistency.

The role combines hands-on web engineering with coordination and web governance responsibilities. Approximately 60–70% of the role will focus on hands-on technical work (frontend development, integrations, web tooling, platform improvements, and technical support for web initiatives), while the remaining time will focus on coordination, standards, compliance, and collaboration across teams and vendors.

Your Role within our Kingdom

Web Platforms & Governance

• Support the maintenance, evolution, and governance of king.com and related web platforms
• Contribute to web standards, technical guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability
• Help improve collaboration and coordination across teams working on web initiatives
• Partner with game and tech teams to support web-based game experiences and integrations, helping ensure alignment with shared platform standards.

Compliance & Risk

• Support implementation of privacy, compliance, and accessibility standards (e.g. consent management, tracking, and regulatory requirements).
• Help ensure all web platforms align with Microsoft accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and inclusive design best practices.
• Partner with Legal and Security to ensure auditability and reduce risk through scalable guardrails.

Cross-team Leadership & Delivery

• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to support web development, code quality, and delivery efficiency
• Help improve coordination and visibility across web-related requests and initiatives, enabling faster and more predictable execution

Technical Leadership

• Contribute hands-on to frontend and web platform development across Game Services initiatives
• Support implementation of web integrations, tooling, and platform improvements
• Provide technical guidance on architecture, frontend patterns, integrations, and delivery approaches
• Support the IDEV team with frontend and web-related development when needed
• Contribute to technical discussions and help improve engineering practices across web-related initiatives

Technical Stack & Ecosystem

You will work across a modern web ecosystem spanning internally developed platforms, third-party vendors, and game-related web experiences. The current ecosystem includes technologies and tools such as:

• React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Vite
• CMS and content-driven web platforms
• Webviews and integrations with game clients and backend services
• GitHub workflows, CI/CD, and frontend tooling
• Firebase and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Cloudflare and CDN-based delivery
• REST APIs and backend integrations
• Figma and collaboration tooling
• Analytics, tracking, consent, and accessibility tooling

You are not expected to be an expert in every technology listed above, but you should feel comfortable navigating modern frontend and web platform ecosystems.

Ecosystem & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to support development, ensure quality, and improve delivery efficiency
• Help identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve consistency, and reduce fragmentation across web initiatives

Skills to Create Thrills

Experience & Leadership

• Experience working on modern web platforms as a senior engineer or technical lead
• Experience contributing to shared web platforms or cross-team technical initiatives
• Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams

Technical Expertise

• Solid understanding of modern web architectures (APIs, frontend frameworks, integrations)
• Experience with CMS platforms and content ecosystems
• Knowledge of performance, scalability, and reliable web delivery at scale
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and CDN-based architectures

Compliance & Data Awareness

• Experience with privacy, consent, or regulatory requirements in web environments
• Understanding of tracking, analytics, and data flows

Collaboration & Communication

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into business impact
• Comfortable working across engineering, marketing, product, and legal teams
• Ability to support alignment and coordination across multiple stakeholders and initiatives

Nice to Have

• Experience with consent management platforms (e.g. OneTrust)
• Familiarity with CDNs such as Cloudflare
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and their application in improving developer workflows.
• Experience in high-scale consumer or digital product environments
