Job Title: Locum Paediatric Dysphagia and Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6

Rate: £24.00–£28.00 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Dysphagia and Language Therapist to join a specialist service in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to support children and young people presenting with complex communication needs and paediatric dysphagia.
In this role, you will work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, and deliver evidence-based interventions. You will play a key role in supporting children with a range of developmental, communication, and feeding difficulties, helping them achieve their full potential and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Assess, diagnose, and manage children and young people with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
- Deliver specialist interventions for paediatric dysphagia and complex communication needs.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, educational professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide advice, training, and support to parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Participate in case discussions, reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Previous experience working within paediatric Speech and Language Therapy services.
- Experience assessing and managing paediatric dysphagia cases.
- Experience supporting children with complex communication needs.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
