About DAT
Job Application Deadline: 7/3/2026
The Opportunity
DAT Freight & Analytics is looking for a Product Designer to join our Design Enablement team, focused on crafting exceptional UI and digital experiences across DAT.com and our broader family of marketing web properties working hybrid in Denver, Colorado.
This is a hands-on, craft-forward design role for someone who approaches marketing websites the way a product designer approaches a SaaS product — with curiosity, strong visual instincts, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You’ll treat our web properties as living digital products, applying UX best practices, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making to improve how prospective and existing customers engage with DAT online.
You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Content, Engineering, and fellow designers to produce polished, high-performing web experiences that reflect our brand, drive measurable business outcomes, and set a consistently high bar for UI quality.
Candidate profile
What You’ll Do
Design High-Quality Web Experiences
- Design UI for DAT.com and our marketing web properties — from landing pages and product pages to conversion flows and campaign experiences.
- Treat marketing sites as digital products: approach every project with a customer-centric mindset, a hypothesis, and a clear definition of success.
- Translate brand, campaign, and growth goals into polished, user-centered designs that balance storytelling, usability, and conversion.
- Contribute to and work within CARGO, DAT’s design system — maintaining organized, reusable component libraries in Figma and applying platform thinking to everything you build.
- Ensure quality, accessibility, and consistency across all surfaces, adhering to WCAG standards and inclusive design principles.
Experiment, Measure, and Iterate
- Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to design, document, and support A/B tests and other experiments — approaching all web work as a prototype, not a finished artifact.
- Use analytics, user research, and qualitative feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on experiences based on evidence, not assumptions.
- Track relevant UX and business metrics (conversion rates, engagement, task success) to understand the impact of your work and identify opportunities to improve.
- Help teammates and stakeholders see all design work as a prototype — something to learn from, refine, and continuously improve.
Collaborate and Contribute
- Work across teams with Marketing, Content, Engineering, and fellow designers to bring experiences from concept through launch.
- Participate in design critiques, reviews, and team rituals that raise the collective quality of our work.
- Communicate your design decisions clearly, adapting your presentation style to fit the audience.
- Sometimes mentor peers or help onboard new team members, sharing your knowledge and contributing to a positive team culture.
Operate with a Product Mindset
- Understand the goals behind the work; not just the request. Connect your designs to business outcomes and user needs.
- Commit to a realistic scope of work, communicate your timeline proactively, and escalate blockers before they become problems.
- Regularly use AI to improve the speed and quality of your design work. Applying it independently to common tasks while using sound judgment to ensure outputs remain accurate, relevant, and user-centered.
- Look for opportunities to improve beyond individual requests; identify patterns and suggest enhancements to existing processes or experiences.
The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring
You’re a mid-level designer with strong UI craft and a genuine interest in treating marketing websites as a product surface, not just a canvas. You’re energized by clear objectives, good data, and the challenge of designing experiences that actually move the needle for the business and the customer.
You are energized by:
- Creating visually refined, high-quality UI that reflects a strong sense of brand, hierarchy, and purpose.
- Working iteratively; forming hypotheses, running experiments, and improving based on what you learn.
- Being part of a collaborative, outcomes-focused team that moves quickly and takes craft seriously.
Required Skills:
- 3–5+ years of experience in UX/UI design or a closely related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong UI design skills applied to marketing sites, eCommerce, or high-traffic consumer or B2B web experiences.
- Solid command of UX and UI fundamentals: layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, or data-informed design iteration.
- Proficiency in Figma, including organized component use and contribution to shared design libraries.
- Ability to work within and contribute to a design system; understanding of interconnectedness and modularity in component-based design.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable partnering with Marketing, Engineering, and Content teams.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
- Hands-on creative with proven skills in information architecture, interaction design, and UI design.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with eCommerce or conversion-focused web design (landing pages, CTAs, sign-up and upgrade funnels).
- Familiarity with SVPG principles and modern product team operating models — including empowered teams, continuous discovery, and outcome-focused ways of working.
- Exposure to web analytics or experimentation tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Optimizely, VWO).
- Experience designing for B2B or SaaS product marketing sites.
- Familiarity with SEO, web performance, or front-end basics (HTML/CSS) as they relate to design decisions.
- Experience in freight, logistics, supply chain, or data-heavy product environments is a plus.
