Role and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and empower Store Managers and their teams to consistently exceed operational and sales targets.
• Uphold and promote Dollar General’s mission, values, and company culture across all stores in the district.
• Foster an engaging, goal-driven environment that prioritizes service excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and staff development to cultivate a high-performing and motivated workforce.
Sales & Financial Performance
• Drive district-wide revenue and profit through effective merchandising, cost control, and inventory optimization.
• Evaluate financial metrics to identify performance trends and implement action plans for improvement.
• Support sustainable growth through disciplined execution of operational plans and accurate forecasting.
Customer Experience
• Ensure every store delivers a positive, welcoming experience by promoting a friendly, service-focused culture.
• Address customer feedback and ensure each store takes proactive steps to enhance satisfaction.
Operational Execution
• Manage product flow and stock levels to ensure in-store availability and appealing displays.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, operational standards, and safety requirements.
• Plan and adjust store staffing to support productivity while controlling labor costs.
Strategic Planning & Growth
• Identify and act on opportunities to enhance store operations, layouts, and merchandising strategies.
• Partner with store leadership to execute regional and corporate initiatives.
• Remain adaptable to shifting business needs and market conditions to ensure district success.
Loss Prevention & Compliance
• Safeguard assets by ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, cash handling procedures, and loss prevention policies.
• Conduct routine audits and reviews to maintain operational compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, retail, or a related area (preferred).
• At least 4 years of leadership experience in multi-unit retail management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, increase sales, and maintain inventory and expense control.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop and support diverse teams.
• Solid financial acumen and the ability to interpret operational data and manage budgets.
• Effective multitasking and time management in a dynamic retail environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; frequent travel required.
