Senior Cloud Engineer III

Position Summary
We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based systems while evaluating and leveraging current and emerging technologies. This position may work remotely.? Must be a U.S. citizen.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deploy scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient multi-cloud architectures, leveraging serverless services, containerized workloads, event-driven components, and modular cloud-native designs following CSP best practices
• Lead end-to-end cloud solution architecture, including requirements gathering, system design, technical documentation, and architecture governance
• Design, implement, and manage cloud-based DNS, identity, and access services, including Single Sign-On (SSO), directory services, and integrations across cloud and enterprise systems
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks to manage cloud infrastructure, patching, maintenance, and operational workflows across interconnected systems
• Design and manage serverless and distributed cloud services, including compute, messaging, queues, and data services to support modern application architectures
• Plan and execute on-premises to cloud migrations, applying best-practice infrastructure patterns and supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Architect and manage cloud networking, storage, and data platforms, including network interconnectivity with on-prem environments, data ingestion/processing pipelines, archival storage, and enterprise tagging/labeling frameworks
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, performance optimization, and operational reliability, while supporting troubleshooting, incident resolution, and maintaining SOPs and operational documentation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent) with 8–10 years of relevant experience
• 6+ years of systems engineering experience building cloud-based solutions, including demonstrated experience with AWS (required), Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience managing web-based application servers and databases in cloud and hybrid environments
• Ability to interpret architectural designs and translate them into effective cloud migration and modernization solutions
• Strong background managing virtualized environments, including compute, storage, networking, and virtual machine administration
• Hands-on experience creating, testing, implementing, and deploying cloud services, infrastructure components, and network changes
• Deep understanding of cloud and infrastructure security principles, controls, and best practices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, CloudFormation, and Puppet
• Experience supporting mission critical enterprise applications on RHEL Linux and/or Windows, either -on-premises- or in the cloud
• Experience with network security groups, Active Directory integrations, load balancers, AWS Direct Connect, backup/archival solutions, and core AWS services such as EC2, EBS, and S3 or other CSP equivalent services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work directly with clients to understand and gather business/mission requirements and design effective solutions
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud migrations, particularly in government or highly regulated environments
• NOAA cleared personnel (at least within the last 2 years)
