Position Overview
CGS is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to work within our Information Technology department. In this role, you will partner with internal business owners and external partners to identify new business opportunities, define functional requirements, and document processes. You’ll be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions while contributing to government innovation and continuous process improvement.
Compensation: $60,000 - $110,000 a year
Key Responsibilities
• Support development of briefings, agendas, training materials, and demonstration sessions for new and existing technologies.
• Document and analyze business and functional requirements, translating them into process maps and technical specifications.
• Develop comprehensive documentation including system diagrams, concepts of operations, and monthly status reports.
• Create high-level briefings and communications materials for customers, management, and executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate with government teams to identify opportunities for service delivery improvement and new technology implementation.
• Independently gather insights from subject matter experts to produce procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
• Leverage Microsoft and Atlassian products (Teams, SharePoint, Visio, Jira, Confluence) to translate complex information into engaging content.
• Research, write, and edit new and existing content in various media forms ensuring a consistent and cohesive tone.
• Perform risk management by identifying, prioritizing, mitigating, and communicating risks and issues.
• Manage client interactions and set expectations regarding team efforts while coordinating cross-team dependencies.
• Continuously seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and build long-lasting client relationships.
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Ability to successfully complete a stringent Background Investigation and obtain a Government Security clearance
• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and/or design of information systems programs
• Experience working with phase-based and Agile delivery methods
• Proficiency with Jira or other Agile tools
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Comfortable interacting with Senior Leadership and Government Executives
• Experience managing client requirements and small teams, along with strong analytical and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting DHS HQ or other US Federal Agencies
• Experience tracking and reporting project/program delivery progress and budget execution
• Experience developing project briefs and reports for non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
• Certifications such as PMP, ACP, CSM, SAFe, or CISM
