Position Overview

A Darien, CT based private credit fund, a subsidiary of Seaport Global, seeks an entry level/junior Analyst to help underwrite and manage a portfolio of asset-based loans. The fund, focused on asset-based and special situation lending, lends to specialty finance companies, operators of big-ticket equipment and against esoteric assets. This full-time Analyst position is in the office and is suitable for a recent graduate. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in finance, math, accounting, economics, business, or another quantitative field – a second major or minor in a critical thinking discipline is a plus. The role requires motivation, technical skills, strong problem solving, and the ability to conduct in-depth data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
• Collateral monitoring for a portfolio of loans
• Preparing reports about credit risk exposure to borrowers
• Analyzing historical loan level performance data
• Staying current on market trends with ongoing research
• Securitization and other quantitative modeling
• Drafting investment committee memoranda

Required Qualifications
• 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, risk analysis, credit analysis, loan underwriting, consumer lending or similar
• Acute attention to detail and impeccable judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Knowledge of ABS and/or MBS, MS Excel, VBA and any database software is a plus
