The Company serves a diverse commercial and military customer base from its Global EMI Shielding Technology Center located in Tampa, Florida. Every detail of the company's one-of-a-kind manufacturing facility is tailor-engineered to streamline and improve customer service, engineering and manufacturing processes.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MET) is responsible for providing technical support to the Sales Applications Engineers and Production Managers during the design of new products. The MET will recommend manufacturing processes based on the required customer demand. They will also review all new product designs and manufacturing processes, design and/or coordinate the implementation of new tooling, and validate the initial production runs for all new products. Additionally the MET will work on continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and profitability. Ideally the MET will have production and setup experience

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Provide manufacturing support to the Sales Applications Engineers and Regional Sales Managers.
• Review manufacturing prints for manufacturability and accuracy.
• Review part structure/routings and bill of materials for manufacturability and accuracy.
• Manage new product production process up to the point of production release.
• Redline manufacturing part drawings and jobs to ensure accuracy of operations, run times, setup times, tooling requirements, inspection fixtures, and packaging requirements.
• Process time studies of part operations and setups.
• Support the development of new products from concept to full production.
• Develop processes necessary to produce company products.
• Design internal tooling.
• Review supplier tool design.
• Purchase and manage new tooling process.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives to reduce costs and scrap.
• Prepare setup instructions for production processes when necessary.
• Prepare new and review existing production part approval process (PPAP) documentation.

Quality Management System Responsibilities
• As a member of the Quality Management System, quality procedures, requirements, work instructions, and other required documentation must be followed. Team members are responsible to be aware of the company's quality policy and quality objectives to support the improvement projects and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
